Parallel Parking — One Reference Point

A single sightline instead of a running guess. Scored on most states' road tests.

One reference point beats a running guess — and you still finish within the same eighteen inches.

Step by step

Pull level, three feet out

Signal, and pull up level, about three feet out from it.

Wheel right, reverse to 45°

Wheel toward the curb and reverse — the line closes in as you reach forty-five degrees.

Wheel left, bring the nose in

That's your cue. Swing the wheel back the other way and keep reversing, so the front comes in last.

Straighten and center

Straighten the wheels and edge forward to center yourself between the two cars.

Frequently asked questions

Parallel Parking — is it on every state's road test?

No. Each state's licensing agency sets its own maneuver list. This one is scored on most state road tests. The road test guide lists the official sources this app checked.

How do I practice this before test day?

Drive the maneuver with your supervising driver, and keep the written rules behind it sharp with the free turns, parking and backing module — no account needed.
